Balmain Collaborates with Channel 4 on Original Mini-Series

Balmain, the Parisian fashion house, is set to make a splash this fall with its collaboration with British television channel Channel 4. The brand will unveil an original mini-series called “Fracture,” marking another exciting event during their back-to-school season. In addition to hosting the second edition of the Balmain Festival on September 28 and 29, the brand has revealed the imminent release of this unique mini-series.

“Fracture” is scheduled to premiere on September 2 and tells the story of Mya, a musician who relocated from New York to California. Mya’s journey is intertwined with her friends Edie, Ari, and Noa, played by notable actors Ajani Russell, Tommy Dorfman, and Charles Melton, known for their roles in hit series like “13 Reasons Why” and “Riverdale.” The recently released trailer takes viewers to a motel named “Le Rêve” on the outskirts of Los Angeles, which even has its own Instagram page.

The series was filmed in May in Los Angeles and Mexico, with renowned directing duo Bradley & Pablo at the helm. Known for their work on music videos for top artists such as Charlie XCX, Harry Styles, Lil Nas, and Rosalia, the duo brings their unique vision and creativity to “Fracture.”

For Balmain, this initiative represents a significant milestone in their content strategy. With an inclusive cast and a series format that appeals to younger generations accustomed to platforms like Netflix, “Fracture” tells a longer narrative spread across five eight-minute episodes. Throughout the series, viewers will catch glimpses of pieces from Balmain’s Fall/Winter 21-22 collection, worn by the characters. Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s artistic director since 2011, emphasized the importance of storytelling in his role beyond creating beautiful clothes and accessories. He believes that the best creations inspire stories and new visions.

To watch “Fracture” by Balmain Paris x Channel 4, viewers can tune in to Channel 4’s YouTube channel or visit the fractureseries.com website starting from September 2.
