Balmain has recently made an exciting announcement regarding the appointment of Tancrède de Lalun as the new group director of merchandising at the renowned Paris-based fashion house. With a degree from the prestigious Institut Français de la Mode, de Lalun brings a wealth of experience in merchandising and luxury goods to his new role.
Before joining Balmain, de Lalun held key positions at iconic fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton Malletier and Loewe, where he played vital roles in retail merchandising for Leather Goods and Accessories. He also served as the senior vice president of Merchandising at Loewe. Most recently, de Lalun served as the global merchandising director at Maison Margiela.
De Lalun is a well-known figure in the Paris fashion scene, having previously worked as the fashion director of men’s wear and womenswear at the prestigious Parisian department store, Printemps. His new role as group director of merchandising officially commenced on December 1st, 2020, and he will be reporting to Balmain’s CEO, Jean-Jacques Guével.
In his new position, de Lalun will be taking over from Olivier Germain and will be responsible for defining the merchandising strategy and policy for all of Balmain’s products. He will also oversee the implementation of these strategies across all countries where the brand operates.
