Bally Unveils Revamped Retail Design Concept in New York’s Meatpacking District

Bally, the renowned Swiss luxury brand, has recently unveiled its revamped retail design concept with the reopening of its flagship store in New York’s Meatpacking District. Situated on 58 Gansevoort Street, the newly renovated Bally New York store spans an impressive 3,200 square feet, captivating customers with its new style vision curated by creative director Rhuigi Villaseñor, who joined Bally in 2022. The aim of this design concept is to create a sumptuous and residential atmosphere, reminiscent of an exquisite apartment.

The interior of the store boasts a neutral color palette along with a carefully selected mix of furniture. Noteworthy pieces include exquisite bar items from the Art Deco era sourced from Rio and the Indies, as well as a stunning rosewood case sofa from 1970 designed by American architect and designer Warren Platner. In addition, the design incorporates contemporary elements like Haos wood and a metal dining table crafted in New York City this year, along with an Anker light screen created by Italian sculptor and architect Umberto Bellardi Ricci. Moreover, prominently displayed in the store’s window is a made-to-order Stereo Commander SC 115 designed by Italian artist Willy Rizzo.

The interior design further highlights the store’s sophistication with features such as thick velvet curtains, refined gold hammered metal accents, black calamine iron, and dark lacquered woods. The use of oak parquet in a herringbone pattern and crown moldings contributes to an industrial yet elegant aesthetic, linking the store to Bally’s refreshed identity while paying homage to the brand’s DNA and the architectural style of the city.

Aside from its stunning interior, the Bally New York flagship store also offers an extensive selection of the brand’s ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, shoes, and leather goods for both men and women. This allows customers to explore and experience the full range of Bally’s offerings in a setting that epitomizes the brand’s sophistication and the forward-thinking essence of the Meatpacking district.

Rhuigi Villaseñor, the creative director of Bally, expressed his excitement about the new store design, stating, “It has been an absolute pleasure to research and curate specific pieces from iconic designers who have influenced my sense of style and blend them with custom furniture in an organic and contemporary manner.” Villaseñor further added, “To me, this represents the perfect balance between Bally’s timeless sophistication and the forward-thinking spirit of the Meatpacking neighborhood. We wanted the space to exude refinement while still feeling like home.”

Earlier this year, Bally made headlines by announcing its highly-anticipated collaboration with Academy Award-winning actor and artist, Adrien Brody. Brody will be making his debut as a designer, creating a series of unique standalone capsule collections for the prestigious Swiss label. This collaboration further emphasizes Bally’s commitment to innovation and fresh perspectives within the fashion industry.
