Balenciaga Mesmerizes with Winter 2021 Pre-Collection

Balenciaga, led by creative director Demna Gvasalia, mesmerized fashion enthusiasts with their winter 2021 pre-collection. The fashion house released a captivating “Feel Good” video and an aesthetically pleasing look-book, both capturing the essence of adventure and exploration.

The three-minute video, titled “All Will Be Well,” was a collaborative creation with artists Kamilya Kuspanova and Anton Bialas. It showcased breathtaking visuals of the Earth’s natural beauty, including seascapes, landscapes, sunsets, and wildlife. Each scene served as a symbol of hope and the majestic wonders of our planet. Additionally, the video featured a heartwarming image of skydivers holding hands while jumping together, representing unity and togetherness.

Photographed by Patrick Welde, the accompanying look-book allowed viewers to see the actual garments from the collection. The models were digitally placed in front of iconic global tourist attractions, such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Brandenburg Gate, Taj Mahal, Atomium, Hollywood sign, and Pantheon. This ingenious concept allowed the models to virtually travel the world, fulfilling their dreams of exploring these renowned landmarks.

The collection itself boasted oversized and androgynous silhouettes, showcasing Balenciaga’s innovative designs. What’s even better is that over 90% of the fabrics used were sustainably sourced, aligning with the brand’s commitment to ethical fashion. Notable pieces included a vibrant bubblegum pink twinset with a powerful “Gay Pride” message, a sleek black Balenciaga sweatshirt featuring the “Established in 1917” logo, and a stylish denim combo comprising a trucker jacket and jeans. These garments were created with comfort and ease of movement in mind, ideal for avid travelers.

In addition to the clothing, Gvasalia introduced several new bags in the pre-collection. One standout piece was the Neo Classic bag, a modern interpretation of the iconic Balenciaga bag, adorned with studs and featuring a heart-shaped hanging mirror. Another intriguing addition was the Bistro Basket, a captivating plaid plastic woven tote inspired by the charm of traditional French bistros.

Overall, Balenciaga’s winter 2021 pre-collection emanated an aura of optimism and a longing for global travel. Demna Gvasalia’s exceptional creative vision and meticulous attention to detail resulted in a visually captivating presentation that left viewers yearning for the endless possibilities that await us.
