Audemars Piguet Appoints Ilaria Resta as CEO

Audemars Piguet, a renowned independent watch brand, has recently announced the appointment of Ilaria Resta as its new chief executive officer (CEO). This news marks a significant change in leadership for the company, as Resta takes over the role from François-Henry Bennahmias, who has decided to step down after nearly 30 years with the company. Resta will officially assume the CEO position on January 1, 2024, but will join the company in August to ensure a smooth transition.

Resta brings with her an impressive resume with over 26 years of international experience. She has held leadership positions in several prominent companies, including her most recent role as the president of Firmenich, a Swiss fragrance and flavors supplier. Prior to that, Resta spent over two decades at Procter & Gamble, where she held executive positions at both the European and American headquarters. During her time at Procter & Gamble, Resta successfully managed globally recognized brands across various industries.

The chairman of Audemars Piguet, Alessandro Bogliolo, expressed his excitement about Resta’s appointment, highlighting her track record of delivering results and strategic thinking based on consumer insights. He believes that Resta’s expertise will ensure the longevity and relevance of Audemars Piguet for future generations, leading to sustainable growth. Bogliolo also commended Resta’s commitment to team empowerment and her accomplishments in corporate sustainability, which align with the company’s values as an independent, family-owned business.

Bogliolo took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Bennahmias for his remarkable contributions to Audemars Piguet over the years. He recognized Bennahmias’ transformative leadership as instrumental in shaping the company’s success and thanked him for overseeing a seamless transition until the end of the year.

With the appointment of Ilaria Resta as CEO, Audemars Piguet is poised to embrace the future with her extensive experience and strategic vision. The company aims to continue its growth and uphold its legacy as a respected and innovative watch brand. As the luxury watch industry continues to evolve, Audemars Piguet is confident that Resta’s leadership will guide them through this ever-changing landscape.
