Armani, Hugo Boss, and Moss Bros Confirm Participation in Grantham Designer Outlet Village

Armani, Hugo Boss, and Moss Bros have confirmed their participation in the upcoming Grantham Designer Outlet Village, set to open in 2023. The premium outlet development, spanning 270,000 sq ft, is located in the East Midlands and will cater to a wide catchment area that includes Cambridge, Nottingham, Leicester, Peterborough, and Lincoln.

This news highlights the buoyancy of the outlets sector, as renowned fashion brands choose to be a part of the Grantham Designer Outlet Village. Outlets have proven to be highly successful shopping destinations, not just in the UK but across Europe.

Moss Bros, in particular, sees its involvement in the Grantham project as a pivotal step forward. Tim Morris, a spokesperson for the brand, emphasized Moss Bros’ resilience during the pandemic and its current focus on achieving further growth. The company aims to expand its casual ranges and elevate its brand proposition.

Beyond fashion brands, the Grantham Designer Outlet Village will also incorporate the services of Paris-based tech firm Wishibam. Wishibam will introduce an omnichannel retail store management system, offering features such as ship-from-store and click-and-collect. This innovative technology will enhance the physical shopping experience by providing real-time updates on product availability in participating stores, ultimately driving footfall and boosting sales.

The Grantham Designer Outlet Village is a joint venture between property investor Buckminster and designer outlet retail specialist Rioja Estates. The project aims to establish a cutting-edge designer outlet village that embraces the digital age. Phase One of the development will showcase up to 90 retail units, with an additional 50 units planned for Phase Two. The project is projected to bring in £100 million in direct investment and create up to 1,500 permanent jobs by its completion in summer 2023.

Giles Membrey, Managing Director of Rioja Estates, expressed his excitement about the growing interest from brands in the project. He observed that the success of outlets in the post-pandemic era has sparked a significant increase in brand engagement and enthusiasm for this new venture. Overall, the Grantham Designer Outlet Village is poised to become a thriving retail destination, offering an unparalleled shopping experience to customers in the East Midlands and beyond.
