Armani Exchange Makes a Comeback on Regent Street

Armani Exchange, the renowned fashion brand, is making a comeback on London’s Regent Street. The brand will be occupying the space previously held by Zara Home, which unfortunately closed its doors due to the impact of the pandemic. This exciting development adds to the growing number of prestigious retailers that have chosen Regent Street as their prime location.

Despite facing challenges during and after the lockdowns, Regent Street has made an impressive recovery. It has quickly regained its appeal and is now drawing in a multitude of reputable names in the fashion industry. Superdry moving its flagship store to Oxford Street may have been a disappointment, but Regent Street has managed to maintain its allure with the arrival of Uniqlo and Theory in a combined store. This more than compensates for the loss. Moreover, Marc Jacobs is also set to open a store on the opposite side of the road from the upcoming Armani Exchange location. These two labels will join a burgeoning list of high-end brands near Piccadilly Circus, including Bally, Mulberry, and the well-established Burberry store. Regent Street is also home to three SMCP-owned labels: Maje, Sandro, and Claudie Pierlot.

Once known for its mass and middle-market offerings, Regent Street is now quickly being dominated by premium and high-end brands. It is also becoming increasingly attractive to fitness-focused labels. Fabletics recently opened a store on the street, and further up, Gymshark has taken over the J Crew flagship.

Armani Exchange’s decision to reopen its Regent Street store is particularly interesting as the brand had previously closed it following the Brexit vote. It had also closed other stores in major malls such as Bluewater in Kent and Manchester’s Trafford Centre. This new opening signifies a renewed confidence in the allure and potential of Regent Street as a prime retail destination.

While the exact opening date for Armani Exchange has yet to be confirmed, recruitment signs in the store windows indicate that the brand is actively seeking staff. With the addition of Armani Exchange and the arrival of other prestigious brands, Regent Street continues to solidify its standing as one of London’s premier shopping destinations.
