American designer Matthew M. Williams has been appointed as the new Creative Director of Givenchy, taking over from Clare Waight Keller who left the fashion house in April. The official announcement was made on Monday, June 15th through an audio post on Givenchy’s Instagram account. Williams will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction of both the women’s and men’s collections, with his role officially commencing tomorrow.

In a statement, Williams expressed his enthusiasm about joining Givenchy, highlighting his desire to take the brand into a new era centered around modernity and inclusivity. He also extended his gratitude to LVMH Group, Givenchy’s parent company, for granting him the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream. Recognizing the current challenging times, Williams emphasized his commitment to spreading hope and making a positive impact on society.

Sidney Toledano, CEO of LVMH Fashion Group and member of the LVMH executive committee, described Matthew M.
