Amazon Expands Luxury Fashion Offering to Five Additional Countries

Amazon, the global e-commerce giant, is making strides in the fashion industry by expanding its premium Fashion and Designer offerings to five additional countries this week. The company originally launched its Luxury Store in September 2020, introducing a unique concept of “stores within the store.” This innovative approach allows each brand to have an independent tone and sales platform within the Amazon marketplace.

Initially, access to these luxury stores was by invitation only and exclusively available to Amazon Prime customers in the United States. The first brand to join this exclusive club was Oscar de la Renta, and it was soon followed by other renowned fashion and beauty brands like Aquazurra, La Perla, and Missoni, to name a few.

After the success and positive reception of the Luxury Store in the United States, Amazon has decided to expand its reach to five major European markets, namely France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The fundamental principle of the concept remains intact, with each brand operating its own dedicated space within the Amazon platform. This includes complete control over product selection, pricing, inventory management, and customer service. On the other hand, Amazon leverages its strengths, such as its “fast and free” delivery service, to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.

In these new European Luxury Stores, customers can expect to find a wide range of prestigious brands and designers. Some of the first notable names announced include Christopher Kane, Dundas, Elie Saab, Mira Mikati, Rianna+Nina, Boglioli, Jonathan Cohen, and Altuzarra. These renowned fashion houses will now have the opportunity to showcase their unique styles and collections to a broader international audience through the vast Amazon platform.

As this expansion unfolds, it is apparent that Amazon is determined to solidify its position in the luxury fashion market. By providing an exclusive and tailored environment for high-end brands, Amazon aims to attract discerning fashion enthusiasts who value convenience and accessibility.
