Alexis Mabille Unveils ‘Portraits de Femmes’ Collection

Alexis Mabille, a talented fashion designer hailing from Lyon, has recently unveiled his latest collection of princess dresses for the fall-winter 2015 season. Titled “Portraits de Femmes,” the collection serves as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Mabille’s brand, while also showcasing his deep admiration for women.

Inspired by the personalities of 15 influential women, Mabille has crafted a collection of meticulously designed garments that pay homage to these remarkable individuals. Renowned photographer Matthew Brookes has beautifully immortalized the collection through a series of stunning photographs.

Each dress in the collection is uniquely tailored to reflect the style and essence of its muse. For example, American artist Dita von Teese’s talents in dance and modeling inspired Mabille to create a breathtaking emerald green jersey and duchess satin gown. The design for Leslie Caron, a celebrated dancer, includes an elegant white satin blouse and high-waisted tuxedo pants with a vinyl trim. Actress Bérénice Béjo’s delicate lace gown is incredibly intricate and hand-painted in a gradient of pale pink to wine.

Another standout piece in the collection is an exquisite beaded gown made with crystal, hematite, and black, which was inspired by ballet dancer Marie-Agnès Gillot. Mabille also created long corset gowns in various shades of pink for models Audrey Marnay, Yumi Lambert, and Julia Frauche. These gowns, a personal favorite of the designer, were reimagined as smoking-inspired dresses for Brazilian model Michelle Alves and shoe designer Inga Savits. Manuela Frey wore a soft pink version of the gown, while Diana Gartner showcased a coral crepe design.

Continuing with the theme, there is a green tulle version of the gown for model Morgane Dubled, and a petal-colored creation made from crepe and gazar for photographer and stylist Marie Beltrami. Mabille designed a long taffeta shirt dress with lace accents for painter and former model Mounia Orosemane, and musician and singer-songwriter Olivia Merilahti served as inspiration for a grand organza ruffled skirt with lace embroidery and silk quilting.

This “Portraits de Femmes” collection truly showcases Alexis Mabille’s elegant creativity. By seamlessly blending his signature style and codes with each muse’s unique presence, Mabille has achieved a harmonious fusion of fashion and individuality.
