Akris, the renowned fashion brand, is currently hosting a remarkable exhibition in Zurich titled ‘Akris. Fashion. selbstverständlich’ to celebrate its centennial. The exhibition showcases the unique talent of Albert Kriemler, the creative force behind Akris, for collaborating with fine artists and incorporating their work into his designs.
Founded in 1922 by Albert’s grandmother, Alice Kriemler-Schoch, Akris still operates in the same building she purchased 80 years ago. Located in St. Gallen, Switzerland, the brand’s identity is deeply connected to the production of guipure lace, a significant material in fashion.
Held at the prestigious Museum für Gestaltung, the exhibition is divided into 10 chapters, each highlighting different collaborations and partnerships pursued by Albert over the years. This collaboration influenced the design of white grained leather bags and 3D printed rings, demonstrating Albert’s ability to incorporate architectural influences into his fashion creations.
