ABG Acquires Majority Stake in Camuto Group’s Brands

Authentic Brands Group LLC has recently made a groundbreaking move in the fashion industry by acquiring a majority stake in the intellectual property of Camuto Group’s proprietary brands. This strategic partnership, in collaboration with DSW Inc., will see ABG taking control of 60 percent of the intellectual property of Camuto Group’s brands, while DSW will retain the remaining 40 percent. Some of the well-known brands included in this deal are Vince Camuto, Louise et Cie, Sole Society, and Enzo Angiolini, among others.

In addition to acquiring the intellectual property, American company DSW Inc. will now oversee all Camuto Group operations, which include design, sourcing, production, and wholesale infrastructure. This move is aimed at expanding ABG’s collective brand value, which currently stands at an impressive $8.3 billion in annual retail sales. According to the press release from the company, this acquisition will enable Camuto Group to continue serving its existing partners while also paving the way for growth and the development of new brands in the future.

Jamie Salter, Chairman, and CEO of Authentic Brands Group, expressed his excitement about this strategic partnership, noting that it will lay a solid foundation for the introduction of new brands and expansion opportunities. DSW Inc. CEO, Roger Rawlins, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the transformative impact of this acquisition on DSW’s position within the footwear industry.

This deal not only involves the acquisition of the Camuto Group operation but also grants DSW licensing rights to other popular brands like Jessica Simpson, Lucky Brand, Max Studio, and participation in joint ventures with ED Ellen DeGeneres and Mercedes Castillo. With a founding date of 2001, the Camuto Group has solidified its position as a leader in the footwear and accessories market, with the Vince Camuto brand being widely recognized and sold in a multitude of retail locations worldwide.

In conclusion, the partnership between Authentic Brands Group, DSW Inc., and the Camuto Group signifies a promising new chapter in the fashion industry, offering significant growth prospects and expansion opportunities on the horizon.
