A.F. Vandevorst Set to Make a Splash at Milan Fashion Week

A.F. Vandevorst, the esteemed fashion label founded by the talented duo An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, is set to make a splash at Milan Fashion Week this season. While there were initial rumors of a show at Paris Fashion Week, the brand has decided to debut its latest collection in Milan, a decision that has fashion enthusiasts buzzing with excitement. In honor of its impressive 20-year milestone, A.F. Vandevorst has big plans for the upcoming Fashion Week in the Lombard capital, slated for September 18 to 24.

The main event on everyone’s radar is the brand’s much-anticipated runway presentation on Saturday, September 22. The newest collection pays homage to A.F. Vandevorst’s rich archives, presenting a fresh take on timeless pieces with the use of cutting-edge fabrics and prints. Over the past year, the brand has shifted its focus to expand its footwear line while continuing to push boundaries with innovative apparel introductions, including striking collaborations and exclusive capsule collections.

An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, the visionary minds behind A.F. Vandevorst, first crossed paths at Antwerp’s Academy of Fine Arts back in 1987. In addition to their runway showcase, the creative duo will also be participating in the White Milano trade fair from September 21 to 24. Attendees can expect to see a stand featuring a one-of-a-kind installation resembling a hospital room, transformed into a unique pop-up store where pieces from the latest collection will be available for purchase. Moreover, the designers will treat fans to a book signing event promoting “Ende Neu,” a sprawling 600-page tribute to the brand’s remarkable 20-year journey, published by Hannibal Publishing.

This year, Belgium takes center stage at the White show with “The Belgian Focus” project, a collaboration with Flanders DC showcasing emerging Belgian creative talent. Representing the country at the event are seven up-and-coming brands: Ophelia Lingerie, Morobé, Marylène Madou, Lies Mertens, Mooiloop, Studio Collect, and Helder Antwerp. A.F. Vandevorst’s presence at Milan Fashion Week underscores the brand’s enduring influence and forward-thinking approach within the fashion landscape.
