Moncler, the renowned Italian luxury outerwear company, saw a significant boost in sales during the first quarter of the year, marking a remarkable 14 percent increase. This impressive growth was mainly driven by the strong sales performance in mainland China and South Korea, illustrating the brand’s wide global appeal. Surpassing expectations, Moncler’s revenues reached 378.5 million euros, outperforming the average estimate of 374 million euros from a recent Reuters survey. Even after factoring in currency fluctuations, the company still posted a substantial 11 percent sales increase.
In a strategic move to target a younger and more fashion-forward demographic, Moncler shifted towards monthly product launches, a strategy that proved to be immensely successful. The brand’s sales soared by 19 percent in 2018, a clear indication that this new approach resonated well with consumers.
CEO Remo Ruffini expressed great optimism about Moncler’s future prospects, citing the recent sales figures and upcoming projects as promising indicators. While recognizing the importance of past performance, Ruffini remains bullish about the brand’s outlook, confident in its ability to maintain its upward trajectory in the luxury outerwear market.
With a strong growth trajectory and a well-defined strategic direction, Moncler appears well-positioned for sustained success in the competitive world of luxury fashion.
