080 Barcelona Fashion: Embracing Digitalization and Showcasing Catalonian Designers

The 27th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion is scheduled to take place from April 26-29, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the event will once again be held in a digital format, as decided by the Consorcio de Comercio Artesanía y Moda, the Catalonian governmental authority. This decision was made to comply with restrictions and adapt to the increasing digitalization of the fashion industry.

One of the highlights of this year’s event will be a presentation recorded at Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, a renowned architectural masterpiece designed by Antoni Gaudí. Through live streaming, viewers will be able to virtually experience all the collections being showcased.

The lineup of designers for 080 Barcelona Fashion includes both established names and newcomers. Txell Miras, Pablo Erroz, Menchen Tomàs, and Lola Casademunt are among the designers presenting their latest creations. Other participating labels include Lebor Gabala, Escorpion, Eñaut, Avellaneda, and Custo Barcelona.

Making its debut at the event is Costan Hernández’s label Is Coming. Hernández was previously associated with Hoss Intropia, a brand now owned by Spanish retail group Tendam. Another exciting addition to the lineup is Paloma Wool, a Barcelona-based label founded in 2014 by Paloma Lanna, who will be making her catwalk debut.

Victor Von Schwarz, a cult designer known for dressing Spanish pop stars like Rosalía, Aitana, and Bad Gyal, will be showcasing his new creations after recently featuring at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Other notable designers on the lineup include Y_Como, The Label Edition, Paraiso, Paola Molet, Otrura, Onrushw23fh, LR3, Eiko Ai, Antonio Marcial, and Álvaro Calafat.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, 080 Barcelona Fashion continues to be at the forefront of the fashion industry’s digital future. By embracing technology and innovative ways of presenting collections, the event demonstrates its unwavering commitment to supporting designers and promoting Catalonian fashion on a global scale.
